The aim of this project is to disseminate knowledge about the Katyn Massacre both in Poland and internationally. The many years-long struggle for public acknowledgement of responsibility for the commissioned crime by the Russian authorities, including the disinformation campaign conducted by the Soviet government, has led to a distorted picture of the Katyn events in the eyes of Poles, Russians and other Europeans. Countering this kind of disinformation is one of the key elements of national historical discourse, and in the current era of electronic accessibility it is necessary to create internet portals that convey historical truth. The main task carried out under the project includes the creation of a repository of texts about the Katyn Massacre in the form of a trilingual website. The portal will contain a historically truthful description of the events, a collection of articles on related issues, a photo gallery of the fallen heroes, diaries kept by them from the POW camp, and the correspondence between the victims and family members. The decision to translate the content of the website into English and Russian stems from the intention to make historical truth available internationally. The inhabitants of Russia and countries under Russian influence have limited access to information about events that show Russia in a bad light. By publishing the content of the portal also in Russian, we enable them to reach the truthful version of events. The English translation is intended to make the compendium of knowledge about the Katyn Massacre available to a larger audience of Europeans.

The portal is also intended to enrich the knowledge and historical awareness of Poles. Thanks to a multifaceted information campaign, the news of the portal's creation will reach people of all ages, but we are particularly keen to inform as many primary and secondary schools as possible, so that the portal's content can serve as a teaching aid for history teachers striving to raise children and young people in a patriotic manner.
